Germany is Indian's most important trading partner in the EU, the volume of bilateral trade increased up to EUR 15.4 billion in 2010. The automotive industry in Germany, and particularly in Eastern Germany, offers promising opportunities for business cooperation and investments.
Germany Trade & Invest and the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce welcomed Indian company representatives to the Indo-German Automotive Industry Forum on Monday, January 23, 2012 at the Leela Palace Hotel in New Delhi.
The guests were first welcomed by Guido Christ, Dy. Director General, Indo-German Chamber of Commerce, and Cord Meier-Klodt, Charge d'Affaires, German Embassy New Delhi. Michael Pfeiffer, Chief Executive of Germany Trade & Invest, mentioned the state-of-the-art infrastructure, large pool of skilled employees, and generous financial incentives of Germany, especially in Eastern Germany.
Senior Manager for Transportation Technologies of Germany Trade & Invest, Sebastian Wittke, gave an overview of the German automotive market and future trends. Testimonial Arun Bharat Ram, Chairman of SRF Ltd., shared his insights of Indo-German business mentality, whereas N.K. Taneja, Group Corporate Marketing Head of Ashok Minda Group, presented his company's success story in Eastern Germany. At the following business dinner the guests had the opportunity to discuss further possibilities for investments and cooperations in the Indian and German automotive industry.
