Energy Efficiency in Germany’s Energy Transition

DEinternational Italia Srl │ Via Gustavo Fara, 26 - 20124 Milano | Italia

Germany Trade & Invest jointly with the German-Italian Chamber of Industry & Commerce cordially invite Italian companies interested in setting up business operations in Germany to an exclusive workshop in Milano, September 30, 2014.

Germany Trade & Invest will outline the advantages of Germany as a business location with particular focus on energy efficiency solutions for buildings and industry in the context of Germany’s ongoing energy transition.

Improving energy efficiency and integrating an increasing share of renewables into the national energy mix are the two key pillars of Germany’s Energiewende – the strategic transition towards a more sustainable energy system by 2050. Already today, Germany is one of the few countries in the world to have decoupled economic growth from total energy consumption, and energy efficiency is a 100 billion euro market, by far the largest in the EU. But ambitious national goals, as well as the implementation of the EU Energy Efficiency and Building Performance Directives mean further significant policy initiatives and investment are needed to reach the set efficiency targets, especially in the building sector and in industrial production. And while in both cases, generous incentives are available for customers, a vast share of energy efficiency projects is commercially viable without subsidies, thanks in part to high energy prices in Germany.

Germany Trade & Invest’s experts will be on hand to share their knowledge and experience of:

  • Investment and market opportunities in Germany.

  • Relevant legal and tax framework as well as available incentives for business establishment in Germany.
