The United States stands out among the export markets and investment destinations for German companies. Around nine percent of German exports go to the US – mainly capital and intermediate goods for the American manufacturing sector. A large share of Germany’s outbound FDI stock is also located in the US.
The recent tax reform and increase in industrial activity in the US have supported the strong demand for German products in the US. But how do companies deal with the challenges presented by changes in US trade policy, the threat of additional tariffs and the new North American USMCA trade agreement?
These questions – as well as other challenges and opportunities in US business – will be discussed as part of a panel event of experts and business leaders hosted by GTAI in cooperation with the DIHK, Deutsche Messe, AmCham Germany, and the IHK Hanover.
How to succeed in uncertain times. Addressing changing economic conditions in the US market.
Moderator: Mark Tomkins | President & CEO GACC Midwest
