Renewable Energy Delegation Visit to Russia
Germany Trade & Invest and the Russian-German Chamber of Commerce organized a delegation of Eastern German renewable energy companies to Russia between June 3-7, 2013.
The renewable energy industry in Russia is somewhat underdeveloped, particularly in the country's rural regions. As the largest country in the world, Russia represents a major renewables investment opportunity, even more so with the Russian government's plans to modernize the energy sector. This also creates many new opportunities for Eastern German companies.
Eastern Germany is a global cleantech player, being particularly strong in the fields of solar and wind energy. A large number of innovative companies with experience and technical know-how have already settled in Germany's new federal states and are able to provide advanced solutions for the Russian market.
German delegation participants gained important insights into the Russian renewable energy market. Russian-German business exchange was promoted by several events and B2B-meetings. Workshops in Moscow and Krasnodar with presentations from Russian companies and political representatives highlighted the numerous opportunities for German companies looking to build their international partner network and expand into the Russian market.
