Tapping Germany’s Business Potential
Opportunities for Indian Companies in Eastern Germany
In the framework of the Mumbai Christmas Fest, Germany Trade & Invest had organized the investor conference “Tapping Germany’s Business Potential” in cooperation with the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce. The event for Indian high-level company representatives took place at the Mahalaxmi Race Course (Royal Western Turf Club) on November 30th, 2013.
Around 130 participants were provided with insights into the business location Germany by Peter Alltschekow (Managing Director Marketing and Communications, Director Eastern Germany, Germany Trade & Invest) and could learn more about the numerous advantages Eastern Germany – as one of Europe’s most dynamic regions – can offer to Indian investors. One of Germany’s new federal states, Thuringia, was afterwards introduced as a potential investment location by Dr. Gilbert Metzger (Director East Asia, State Development Corporation Thuringia).
With his Indian company being a member of the international network BalticNet-PlasmaTec based in the north of Eastern Germany, Hughen Thomas (Founder, Plazma Technologies Pvt. Ltd.) kindly presented an example of successful R&D cooperation between India and Germany.
The following exclusive luncheon was intensively used for networking and many participants also took the chance to personally discuss their questions regarding investment and business opportunities in Germany with the Germany Trade & Invest representatives. Afterwards, the guests could also experience some German Christmas traditions at the Mumbai Christmas Fest.
