May 03, 2016
Berlin (GTAI) - A new and comprehensive guide to mergers and acquisitions in Germany went online in Berlin on Monday, promising increased transparency and clarity for foreign investors.
Published by federal economic development agency Germany Trade & Invest (GTAI), the guide includes valuable contributions from senior figures at a number of leading German companies, including Siemens and BASF, as well as several leading consultancies.
Split into three sections: M&A environment, Share Deals and Asset Deals, the guide is designed to explain new programs and update prior publications on the subject, with the latest information on laws and best practice within the federal republic. The guide was born from an earlier volume written specifically for Chinese investors, but is now suitable for investors from all over the globe.
“On the basis of the demand following our publication of ‘Mergers and Acquisitions in China and Germany’, GTAI decided that it would be in our interests to publish a guide that laid out in simple fashion the means of investing through M&A in Germany,” continued Mr. Schnabel. “The guide takes you from assessing the investment climate, through taxation and policy, all the way to signing and closing. We believe it will be a useful tool for potential investors.”
