Berlin, November 9. Germany's Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) has launched the tech-competition “Smart Service Welt II – new application areas for digital services and platforms”.
The program will be funded by up to EUR 50 million from 2017 to 2021, on top of an estimated EUR 50 million invested by the participants themselves. It promotes sustainable future solutions to give specifically mittelstand-businesses a cross-departmental orientation. It focuses mostly on: employment, mobility, living and primary care.
“The recent Smart Service Welt I program was well received, and the funding of a new program reaffirms the commitment of Germany's government to creating a fertile digital R&D landscape," said Dr. Benno Bunse, CEO of federal economic development agency, Germany Trade & Invest.
The technology program is part of the BMWi’s “Digitalisation Action”program and expands the current Smart Service Welt tech-program to new areas of application.
