Civil Works and Hydraulic Steel Works, Keyal Khwar Hydropower Project - EXTENSION OF DEADLINE!

Project

The Project is located on Keyal Khwar, a right bank tributary of Indus River in District Kohistan (Lower), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 310 Km from Islamabad, Pakistan

WAPDA intends to construct 128 MW Keyal HPP with following components of Civil Works

• Concrete gravity dam, with gated low-level bottom outlet conduits, ungated overflow spillway, a concrete volume of some 135,000 m3, and a dam foundation on bedrock
• Power conduit system, comprising of a 7.1 km long concrete lined headrace tunnel, with an underground desanding System, a concrete lined upstream surge tunnel, a steel lined pressure shaft, a steel lined, high pressure tunnel with upstream manifold branches, and a free flow tailrace tunnel with downstream manifold branches
• Underground powerhouse complex, consisting of a powerhouse cavern, a transformer chamber, a bus-duct gallery, a main access tunnel, a cable / ventilation tunnel and auxiliary tunnels and galleries
• Hydraulic steel structure equipment for the entire hydropower power station, and a 11 kV overhead line to the dam site
• Construction / upgradation of the Keyal Valley Road and the Patan Valley Road, the two access roads to the Project site
