INDUSTRIE 4.0 - Smart Manufacturing for the Future
What are cyber-physical systems? What makes a factory “smart”? And what is “INDUSTRIE 4.0” exactly? These and other questions are addressed in “INDUSTRIE 4.0 – SMART MANUFACTURING FOR THE FUTURE.”
Industrial manufacturing and production is set to undergo a fundamental transformation. Cyber-physical systems, intelligent M2M communication and the Internet of Things pave the way to a new age of production.
INDUSTRIE 4.0 is one of 10 “Future Projects” identified by the German government as part of the German government’s High-Tech Strategy Action Plan 2020. The project aims to establish Germany as a lead provider and market for cyber physical systems and advanced manufacturing solutions.
A selection of research institutions and companies already developing and implementing INDUSTRIE 4.0 solutions also provide their perspectives on the prospects for the “integrated industry” market – both in and beyond Germany.
