Implementation Consulting Services for the Agricultural Mechanization

The , project aims to facilitate a meaningful transition towards enhanced productivity and sustainability in the agricultural sector. Despite Ethiopia's favourable agricultural conditions, the sector's potential remains untapped due to fragmented agricultural structures, prevalent subsistence farming, limited market access, and traditional production practices. In response, the project focuses on promoting agricultural mechanization through Hire-Purchases, facilitating the importation of durable machinery, and assisting the Development Bank of Ethiopia (DBE) in providing leasing options for agricultural SMEs.
The purpose of the project is to expedite the import of long-lasting and adequate agricultural machines and implements (through facilitation of the local distributors of the respective brands, e.g. pre-delivery inspection, operational and maintenance, user training, etc.), to support DBE by building internal capacities required to offer leasing for agricultural machines and implements in a sustainable manner.

 

Requested Consultant services: 

The requested Services of the Implementation Consultant (IC) under this assignment are as follows:
 

• Project Design (overall framework for the project implementation and establishing necessary processes at the stakeholders)
• International Procurement under KfW procurement guidelines (agricultural machin-ery and equipment to be purchased based on sustainability, quality, and local sup-plier eligibility)
• Capacity Building within DBE (trainer-of-trainers model)
• Monitoring and Evaluation (collecting data and reporting)
