Consulting Services, Harnessing Renewable Energy From Sources Like Solar Roof Tops and Floating Solar Plants

Project measures: 

The Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (CMWSSB) is a statutory body responsible for providing water supply and sewerage infrastructure facilities to the residents of Chennai City and the Chennai Metropolitan Area in state of Tamil Nadu in India. There is an urgent need for CMWSSB to take up measures to reduce the energy consumption so as to reduce Operation & Maintenance cost. In this regard, CMWSSB aims to develop and implement a sustainable and cost-effective renewable energy strategy, potentially through public-private partnerships (PPP) or engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) models for Solar Roof Tops in CMWSSB sites / offices and Floating Solar Plants in 3 Lakes namely Poondi, Chembarambakkam and Redhills lakes. 

Requested Services: 

• Explore various renewable energy sources and recommend suitable technologies (Solar Roof Tops and Floating Solar Plants) based on resource availability, energy demand, and site-specific conditions
• Evaluate the potential for installing rooftop wind / solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on CMWSSB's office buildings and administrative premises 
• Conduct a detailed technical feasibility analysis for the recommended renewable energy systems, including confirming whether the measures proposed as the outcome of the energy audit should be subjected to an impact assessment. If an impact assessment is needed, an assessment needs to be done, best as a part of Detailed Project Report (DPR)
