Scope of the Service

The consulting firm is required to carry out the following tasks in close coordination with the Directorate of Inventory and Valuation of SERFOR, the Forest Zoning Project under the Sustainable Productive Forests Program, and other relevant institutions:

  1. Coordination and Access
    • Coordinate with SERFOR specialists to gain access to the proposed fragile ecosystems and obtain the relevant information and cartographic data needed for field assessments.
  2. Fieldwork Planning
    • Prepare a detailed fieldwork planning document (as per Annex 1), which must include:
      • The schedule or itinerary for fieldwork
      • The methodology for data collection aligned with the official guidelines (Annex 2)
      • Maps indicating evaluation points for each ecosystem
  3. Validation of the Work Plan
    • Present the fieldwork plan to SERFOR for review and validation. Approval must be formalized via a signed meeting record.
  4. Execution and Report Preparation
    The report must include the following components:
    • Collection of data on wild flora and fauna (birds, mammals, reptiles, and amphibians)
    • Identification and photographic documentation of anthropogenic threats in the ecosystems
    • Listing and photographing ecosystem services used by the local, provincial, or regional population
    • Recording data using the format provided in Annex 2
    • GPS-tracked access routes from starting points to each evaluation area, submitted in shapefile format
    • Photographic and/or video records of observed flora and fauna species
  5. Final Report
    • Prepare a final evaluation report according to the minimum content specified in Annex 3, including:
      • Species lists in Excel format
      • Photos in JPG folders
      • GPS routes and evaluation points in shapefile format
      • Biological assessment maps in PDF format
      • Submit the complete package to SERFOR via DVD or USB for transfer to the relevant technical department

Note: The consulting firm is responsible for all costs associated with the planning, execution, analysis, and delivery of the outputs.
