International tech fairs and startup events

To internationalize the de:hub ecosystem as well as its startups, GTAI attends several international events every year. Contacts with local and international ecosystems are established on site. Major events are attended every year. VivaTechnology in Paris, Web Summit in Lisbon and Slush in Helsinki.

Viva Technology – Paris

Viva Technology is Europe’s largest technology and startup event. In 2024, VivaTech attracted over 165,000 attendees, 13,500 startups, and 2,000 venture capitalists. The event focused on Artificial Intelligence, along with other emerging technologies, drawing a diverse international crowd. 

In 2024, the German startup delegation at Viva Tech was part of the French-German Tech Lab, which featured a 305 m² pavilion andwelcomed over 4,200 visitors.   Moreover, the side events such as the German Startup Night (300 guests), the French-German Tech Battle, and the French-German Tech Meet-up, offered startups the opportunity to showcase their innovations, network with VCs, and engage in with French and international ecosystem players. The event was a success in facilitating cross-border collaboration and promoting German innovation on the global stage.

SLUSH – Helsinki

The SLUSH 2024 is a leading startup event that attracts innovators and venture capitalists from across the world. In 2024, the event emphasized sustainability, green tech, and next-generation technologies, showcasing the power of AI, mobility, and energy solutions. The German Pitching Stage at SLUSH 2024 was a  where German startups presented their groundbreaking solutions to a crowd of investors, corporates, and industry leaders. It provided startups a platform to get access to global investors and facilitated impactful discussions that fostered future partnerships. The German startup delegation was a prominent force, focusing on green tech, AI, and sustainable innovation. The side event  brought together around 700 guests for informal networking,and a Superconnector event facilitated matchmaking between startups and international partners.

Web Summit – Lisbon

The German Park at Web Summit 2024 featured more than 70 German startups, highlighting bold solutions across AI, GreenTech, FinTech, and HealthTech. The event drew thousands of global attendees, with a particular focus on sustainability and tech-driven innovations that aim to shape the future. 

The German Park at Web Summit was a dynamic showcase of German ingenuity, with key events such as the Startup Germany Night (700 guests) and a further ecosystem a get-together (1,000 guests), providing a platform for networking and collaboration. These events attracted a diverse audience of investors, corporates, and international ecosystem players. The Startup Germany Night offered a chance for German startups to connect with potential partners and investors, while the get together fostered deeper collaboration within Germany’s startup ecosystem. Through these events, the GTAI successfully presented Germany´s startups as tech innovation leaders open to global collaboration.
