Full Steam Ahead for German Maritime Industry
Suppliers in Germany’s maritime sector are feeling positive amidst years of robust growth.

A recent decision by the Canadian government to purchase twelve submarines from German shipbuilder TKMS is no outlier. The industry is flourishing, and predictions are for further prosperity.
Industry organization VDMA expects turnover to reach EUR 13 billion this year – an annual increase of four percent. 2025 revenue came in at EUR 12.5 billion, 5.2 percent more than in 2024. The sector has recorded growth for four years on the trot.
In a VDMA survey, 80 percent of those asked in the sector expected orders to increase or remain steady. An organization spokesman said companies in the industry were re-investing a a significant portion of their profits.
