• CEI Africa, established in November 2021 by KfW on behalf of BMZ, focuses on enhancing energy access for rural households and businesses in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). Managed by Triple Jump (Foundation Manager) advised by Persistent and GreenMax Capital Group (Foundation Advisors), CEI Africa collaborates with off-grid solar energy companies, green mini-grid  (GMG)developers, and financiers to address financing gaps in the off-grid-energy sector in Sub-Sahara Africa. Gender equality is central to CEI Africa's mission, aiming to promote women's participation in expanding clean off-grid energy at all organizational levels. CEI Africa aligns with the 2X Challenge criteria to increase women's representation within the sector. To support this mission, CEI Africa provides Technical Assistance (TA) through its dedicated TA facility, offering grant funding to strengthen grantees' capacity. The TA support encompasses Environment, Social & Governance support, Green Mini Grid (GMG) investing support, core business support legal project support and a Gender TA Pillar. The Gender TA pillar primarily targets grantees involved in GMGs, productive use of energy, and other off-grid solutions, with a focus on gender-related TA projects tailored to meet specific needs. In this context, the consultant will work closely with CEI Africa, with responsibilities spanning three key areas. First, they will establish the foundation for the TA offering by identifying gender-related needs and opportunities among investees and pipeline companies. In the next phase, they will provide customized Gender TA support to grantees. Finally, they will actively raise awareness of CEI Africa's gender-focused initiatives in the market.
