• Fierza HPP is the upstream HPP of the Drin River Cascade, having an average production of 1,328 GWh per annum, with four Francis type generating units at 125 MW installed capacity each, a total of 500 MW installed capacity. The original turbine runners of Units 2 and 4 were replaced with new ones in frame of a limited rehabilitation program between 1996 and 2006. The scope of this project includes two new Francis runners, four new turbine wicket gates including replacement of the complete guide vane mechanisms, four new digital governor systems, four new stators and replacement of the complete rotor poles on all four generators, along with various other refurbishment of ancillary systems and powerhouse cranes.
