Consulting Services/Accompanying Measures, Integrated Water Resources Management / Akhouryan River Construction of Kaps Reservoir and Gravity Irrigation System

Brief Description of the Contract:

the Accompanying Measures Consultant shall support development and management of water, land and related resources in the Akhouryan River Basin in order to maximise the economic and social welfare in an equitable manner without compromising the sustainability of vital ecosystems

• Support the organisational development of relevant water sector institutions
• Provide day to day support to the financial and technical management of relevant water sector organisations
• Prepare and carry out information and awareness campaigns
• Organise stakeholder engagement during design and implementation of the works in order to allow smooth transition to the new technologies
• Support operation of the Kaps and Arpi Dams
• Support integrated water management and the preparation of a river basin management plan

• Improve the institutional framework of irrigation management in the project area

• Support the increase of agricultural productivity (production processes) in selected areas
• Strengthen the value chain for relevant agricultural products

• Support to increase the efficiency of surface water flow management

• Support to review of existing calculations, estimates, justifications and review of the electronic system database and recommendations on regular updating tools
• Development and monitoring of a model for further management of the observatory points of the irrigation system
• Development and installation of computer models for the calculation of water and water economy balances
• Carry out ESHS trainings and organise exchange visits to the countries with best practices.
