Implementation Consultant for the Project “Energy Efficiency II – Phase II”

Brief Description of the Contract:

• The Energy Efficiency II program in Egypt, part of the DC-Program, aims to reduce energy intensity, promote renewable energy integration, and improve energy supply. The program targets SMEs to enhance energy efficiency, reduce emissions, and provide loans for energy-efficient machinery and facilities. The project aims to reduce energy consumption and associated CO2 emissions by 20% while promoting sustainable investments to improve environmental impact  and enhance competitiveness. As part of the financial cooperation between the Arab  Republic  of Egypt and the German government a  total of EUR 35 million is available for the implementation of the Energy Efficiency II – Phase II project. The Banque du Caire (BdC) is the Project Executing Agency, and the Consultant is expected to work closely with them to support the project management. In this role, the Consultant shall provide   operational management and guidance, and ensure the implementation and completion of the project tasks. In particular, the Consultant shall support the BdC in capacity building and pipeline development, conducting eligibility assessments and monitoring sub-loans, ensuring compliance with environmental and social requirements, and administering the cash incentive scheme, which is financed from grant funds.
