Project measures: 

  • The objective of the Surabaya Regional Railway Line (SRRL) Project is to respond to and the increasing mobility demand and to ease the transit capacity bottleneck in Gerbangkertosusila by further establishing and developing an electrified commuter railway system. In particular, the aim is to relieve the urban traffic pressure, reduce the city’s environmental pollution, reduce the specific per-trip transport-related energy consumption and improve the urban living environment.

    The ultimate SRRL network will be implemented in two Phases. Phase 1 accommodates the line between Sidoarjo and Gubeng (Phase I - Stage A) and the line between Gubeng and Pasar Turi (Phase I - Stage B). The subsequent Phase 2 refers to the lines between Pasar Turi and Lamongan, Wonokromo and Mojokerto, and between Sidoarjo and Tarik as well as to the branch from Kandangan to Indro. Phase I - Stages A and B together constitute the corridor with the highest projected ridership volume.

    The Project measures envisaged to be financed from the KfW loan comprise the design, manufacturing, delivery, installation, testing and commissioning of civil works, permanent way, railway electrical and mechanical systems and of non-systems electrical and mechanical equipment required for the Project, including the modernization of existing stations and the construction of new stations as well as level crossings and pedestrian bridges, and furthermore measures to improve the physical access to stations and the integration of the regional railway with other modes of public transport in the Project area. 

    The infrastructure to be provided under the Project will be used to operate commuter railway services with a minimum service headway of initially 30 minutes and later 15 minutes between Surabaya Gubeng and Sidoarjo.

 

Requested Consultant Services: 

  • The scope of the PMIC includes, inter alia, Project Management, Procurement Management and FIDIC Contract Administration for the preparation and implementation of SRRL Phase I - Stage A (Surabaya Gubeng - Sidoarjo) and Phase I - Stage B (Surabaya Pasar Turi - Surabaya Gubeng). 

    The duties of the PMIC comprise providing project management services until the works and plant are formally taken over by the Employer. 

    The underlying duration for the preparation and implementation of the assignment is estimated at fifty-two (52) months plus fourteen (14) months for the Defects Notification Period and for closing out the Project.
