Consulting Services, Water Management/Irrigation System

Brief description of the Contract:

Within the rehabilitation of irrigation systems in Southern Ghor, North Ghor and North-East Ghor Region of the Jordan Valley the Consultant shall provide technical assistance namely:

• Assistance to the water user association and farmers in on-farm-water management;

• Assistance to the WUAs and farmers in agricultural practices on their fields;

• Support to the utilisation of reclaimed water for WUA and farmers;

• Assistance to the water user association and farmers in increasing irrigation efficiency;

• Assistance to WUA and farmers in introducing water efficient crops;

• Assistance to WUA and farmer in general reduction of the use of irrigation water;

• Advice to reduce illegal extraction at the King Abdallah Canal and in the irrigation perimeters;

• Advice on increasing safety measures along the King Abdallah Canal;

• Procurement of equipment, spare parts
