Project:
Kosovo’s energy sector is currently undergoing a fundamental transformation to address structural weaknesses, reduce its dependence on lignite-based power generation, and align with European energy and climate objectives. In response to these challenges, the Government of Kosovo (GoK) has committed to a comprehensive energy and climate reform agenda.
Requested Services:
The Consultant will be primarily responsible for supporting the Long-Term Green Transition Strategy, which will serve as KEK’s guiding framework for aligning operations and investments with Kosovo’s National Energy Strategy (2022-2031). The Consultant will assess KEK’s current generation portfolio, analyze opportunities for renewable energy development, evaluation options for phasing out lignite-based assets, and propose decarbonization pathways. The Consultant will also review KEK’s governance structures, decision-making processes, and compliance with good governance practices.
