  • Country Morocco
  • Financing KfW Entwicklungsbank

  • Subject Pumped Energy transfer station - STEP El Menzel

Brief description of the Contract:

In addition to the services rendered to the electrical network (improvement of the operating conditions of the production units), the stations will have a new use in the context of the energy transition. They present an ideal solution to the intermittency of renewable energies (notably wind and solar) and could even play a role in the valorization of these energies (storage of electricity during the high production phases of renewable energies). ONEE / BE has decided, taking into account the above mentioned, to reinforce its fleet with the Pumped Energy Transfer Station El Menzel which will constitute, a priori, the third structure of this kind, to be integrated in the Moroccan electricity network.

Requested services:

Mission n ° 1

  • Definition of all the topographic works and the geological reconnaissance possibly necessary for the best sizing studies of the project.
  • Estimated project costs.

Mission n ° 2:

  • Establishment of a detailed preliminary design of the variant selected and the technical specifications for the upcoming work and equipment tender
