Sixty-one percent of respondents in the Bitkom study said they would like to receive further training in AI. Only 51 percent of companies currently offer such training to some of their workforce, with a mere 21 percent proving training to all or most employees. These are the results of two representative surveys of 602 companies and 1,007 people aged 16 and over in Germany commissioned by the digital agency.
Sixty-eight percent of companies are convinced that demand will grow in the years to come for specialists in generative AI - creating a gap in the market for adequate AI training provision.
“Generative AI can already increase workplace productivity, be it by summarizing a text, formulating an email or serving as a sparring partner to develop ideas,” said Bitkom President Ralf Wintergerst. “In the years to come we will need more AI expertise in business and administration. Companies would be well-advised to start reacting today to the heightened demand for more AI expertise with training programs.”
