The company from the southwestern city of Freiburg currently ranks as Germany’s most valuable AI enterprise and has now secured a whopping USD 300 million in venture-capital investment.
The funding round was led by AMP and Salesforce, but more than two dozen investors, including some Black Forest Labs customers, took part. Black Forest Labs is currently valued at USD 3.25 billion and is one of Europe’s fastest growing AI companies.
“The interest was gigantic – the round was significantly over-subscribed,” Black Forest Labs head and co-founder Robin Rombach told business newspaper Handelsblatt. “More investors wanted to get involved than we could handle.”
Handelsblatt called Black Forest Labs “a rival to Google.”
The company’s technology is capable of creating presentations and website layouts from linguistic commands. It plans to introduce a video function in the near future.
