ITC Giants Pair to Build Massive Sovereign German Data Center
Nvidia and Telekom will jointly invest over EUR one billion to create a new artificial-intelligence cloud facility in Munich.
Nov 05, 2025
The privately funded project is intended to ensure German data sovereignty. Construction is planned to start in early 2026, the two companies said in a joint statement.
The AI facility will feature up to 10,000 Nvidia Graphics Processing Units (GPUs), which Telekom says will increase Germany's AI computing power by 50 percent. It will be renewably powered and occupies a space of 3000 square meters.
Early partners include SAP, Polarise, and Agile Robots.
“The data will stay in Germany,” said Telekom boss Tim Höttges. “Only certified employees from Germany and other European companies will have access to it.”
