The award was handed out for an agentic AI platform that massively speeds up planning and approval procedures for infrastructure, and particularly hydrogen infrastructure, projections.
“Our technical solution uses what is known as agentic AI and reduces the duration of processes that currently take months to just a few days,” said German Minister for Digital Transformation and Government Modernization Karsten Wildberger, whose ministry developed the tool, in a statement. “We will gradually make this technology available as open-source code and offer it for reuse throughout the country. In doing so, we are creating a blueprint for how to use artificial intelligence in approval processes while also strengthening our digital sovereignty.”
Minister of Economic Affairs and Energy Katherina Reiche, whose ministry is responsible for hydrogen infrastructure, added that the AI platform would create a better framework for the development of a hydrogen economy and make state administration faster and more efficient.
