The facility, which is expected to go into operation at the Gendorf Chemical Park later this year, will form the technological basis for planned commercial production this year.
The company’s chemical battery recycling process allows the efficient recovery of high-purity lithium (up to 80 percent) and graphite (full recovery) that can be reused for the production of new battery cells.
The project represents a mid-single digit euro investment for Tozero, who currently employ around 30 staff at their Munich site. The project is co-financed by the European Union within the framework of the EIC Accelerator Program.
