First Private German Rocket Launches for ESA Planned
Munich’s Isar Aerospace has been commissioned to put two rockets into space for the European Space Agency.

Isar will become the first German company to transport ESA rockets into orbit. Previously such missions have been carried out by the French Ariane Group.
“These agreements underscore the trust European institutions have in our launch services,” Isar head and founder Daniel Metzler told German business newspaper Handelsblatt.
Founded in 2018 as a spin-out of the Technical University of Munich, Isar Aerospace specializes in small-to-medium-sized-satellite transport. The company is currently valued as a unicorn.
