BALOCHISTAN WATER SECURITY AND PRODUCTIVITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR THE SELECTION OF ENVIRONMENTAL SPECIALIST /INDIVIDUAL CONSULTANT

               The Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, through the Government of Balochistan (GoB), with support of the World Bank (WB), is implementing the Balochistan Water Security and Productivity Improvement Project (BWSPIP). The project development objective is to improve flood protection, increase access to water for productive use, and improve water supply service delivery in selected areas of Balochistan. It intends to apply part of the funds to cover eligible payments to hire the services of motivated, experienced, and energetic individual to work with the Project Implementation Unit as Environmental Specialist / Individual Consultant.

Qualification/Experience

Environmental Specialist

  • Master’s degree in Environmental sciences, Environmental Management, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering or comparable discipline.
  • Minimum seven (07) years of professional post-qualification working experience in public/private organizations, preferably in the development sector. 
  • Knowledge of national and international environmental and social regulations, including environmental and social impact assessments, as required by national/international institutions.
  • Experience working in Balochistan or similar regions, with an understanding of the unique geographic and socio-economic challenges in infrastructure development.
  • Proficiency in local languages and the ability to effectively engage with local communities will be a significant advantage.
  • Familiarity with environmental policies in international donor-funded projects will be an advantage

The Government of Balochistan, represented by the Project Director, PIU-BWSPIP (Component-B), now invites eligible individuals to indicate their interest in providing the services.  Interested consultants must provide detailed CVs describing that they are qualified to perform the services as per the criteria defined in the document titled “Terms of Reference”, which can be downloaded from the project website by following the link http://www.bwspip-b.org.pk.

Eligible candidates who meet the required criteria are encouraged to submit their EOI/CV, along with a cover letter, by 4th September 2026 via email at procurement.bwspip.qwasa@gmail.com. The Individual Consultant shall be selected in accordance with the World Bank Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers, Procurement in Investment Project Financing – Goods, Works, Non-Consulting and Consulting Services (Fifth Edition, September 2023), under the Selection of Individual Consultants method.
