The Energy-Producing Regions of the Future: Helmstedt Coalfield
The Helmstedt region is already well on its way toward sustainable energy production, with a waste incineration plant that is capable of providing energy to more than 80,000 households. Construction began on a supplementary sewage sludge mono-incineration plant in early 2020. The region is also driving the production and use of green hydrogen in numerous projects.
