Wind Industry
The government wants to make it possible for municipalities to benefit more from the financial returns of onshore wind power to strengthen support for solar energy and wind power projects.
In order to further accelerate the transition to renewable energy, the German government is abolishing limits on photovoltaic installations and raising the expansion targets for offshore wind power from 15 GW to 20 GW by 2030. That will provide planning security for investments in this sector. There is now even discussion about targeting 40 GW by 2040. For Photovoltaics the new target is 215 GWp by 2030, which requires a CAGR of more than 20% in annual installations.
