EUR 100 Million Milestone for German Aviation
Nov 26, 2025
Deutsche Aircraft has held a roofing ceremony for its start-of-the-art final assembly line (FAL) at the Leipzig/Halle airport.
The new production facility occupies a site of 60,500 square meters, roughly the size of eight soccer fields. The FAL is being built in keeping the goal of carbon neutrality and is fully digital. Customers will be able to monitor construction in real time.
When fully operations the facility will be able to produce up to 48 D328eco aircraft per year. The plane is a modernized and further developed version of the Dornier 328. It’s fifty percent more energy-efficient than its predecessor.
The roofing ceremony has been hailed as a major landmark for the aviation industry in the eastern German regional state of Saxony, where the airport is located.
