Munich’s Proxima Fusion booked a EUR 130 million capital infusion, but there are two even bigger financing rounds in our latest survey of venture capital in Germany.

Helsing, Munich, defense, EUR 600 million
This unicorn from the Bavarian capital has seen dramatic growth recently and took a massive leap forward with a series D round well in excess of a half-billion euros. The deal makes Helsing one of Europe top five private tech companies in Europe. The company develops AI applications for defense and security.
ITM, Munich, biotech, USD 262.5 million
Another start-up from the Bavarian capital that won over investors’ hearts – to the tune of over a quarter-billion dollars - was ITM. It specializes in radiopharmaceuticals, drugs that use radioactive forms of chemical elements, which are deployed in the fight against cancer. The acronym ITM stands for Isotope Technologies Munich.
Noxtua, Berlin, AI, USD 92,2 million
This young company, the successor to start-up Xayn, raked in nearly a hundred million dollars in series B funding. Noxtua specializes in artificial intelligence applications for the law, and the investment was led by one of Germany’s leading legal publishers, C.H. Beck.
Holidu, Munich, travel, EUR 46 million
This property management start-up nearly cracked the fifty-million-euro mark in its latest financing round. Holidu currently manages some 50,000 vacation residences and intends to use its new cash infusion to bolster its business in growth markets like France.
