Munich’s Quantum Systems, which specializes in artificial-intelligence aerial intelligence drones, hit the symbolic valuation after a successful EUR 160 million round of series C funding.
The company’s drones are currently used by countries ranging from Germany and Spain to Ukraine, Australia and New Zealand. The firm has reported annual growth of over 100 percent for several years.
Also achieving unicorn status was AI customer support agent startup Parloa, which bagged USD 120 million in series C funding. The Berlin-based start-up uses artificial intelligence to create virtual “agents” and address bottlenecks in support hotlines and the like.
Artificial intelligence and defense are currently two of the hottest segments of the German start-up scene.
