Germany Sets Electrical Exports Record
Despite a challenging global economic environment, the German electrical and digital industry proved to be extremely resilient in 2025.

The German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association (ZVEI) says that exports in the sector rose by 5.1 percent to around €257.5 billion last year. That’s a new all-time high.
Imports of electrical and electronic products to Germany also grew to around €274.9 billion – also a new all-time high. That was up 8 percent on 2024.
European markets were particularly important. While non-European sales regions fluctuated, Europe proved to be a stable growth driver and made an important contribution to the rise in exports.
"The development of the German electrical and digital industry in 2025 impressively demonstrates the great resilience of this sector,” says Germany Trade and Invest expert Martin Mayer. “The key factors here are a high-performance industrial ecosystem, continuous innovation and close integration into the European market. For international companies looking to invest in future technologies, smart manufacturing and digital solutions in Europe, Germany remains a highly attractive and reliable investment location."
